Product Introduction
GSY Early Discharge Lightning Rod: Early discharge time greater than 60 seconds, maximum discharge current exceeding 350kA, conforming to national standard GB50057-2010 and international standards NFC17-102, UNE21186, and IEC 1024-1. Made of 304L stainless steel, it boasts strong high-temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, with a service life exceeding 10 years. Manufactured using the latest VSSI0 standardized process, its mechanical structure design, dimensional accuracy, welding, polishing, and CNC drilling all reflect top-tier domestic industrial standards, with quality and craftsmanship far surpassing competitors. Six common height specifications are available, and custom heights can also be made. Suitable for lightning protection in large public places, high-rise buildings, factories, explosives depots, mines, oil depots, radar towers, bridges, etc.
Working Principle
The exciter, reflector, and central collecting rod of the pre-placed lightning rod are insulated. The exciter and reflector have special tip structures. The exciter absorbs and stores energy from the electric field in nature. The reflector and lightning rod are initially well connected to the ground, with the same potential. Under normal circumstances, there is a certain electromagnetic field strength between the exciter and reflector. Before lightning strikes, under the action of electrostatic induction, the opposite charge on the lightning rod increases rapidly, the electric field strength increases rapidly, the voltage drop between the exciter and reflector increases rapidly, and the tip sparks, ionizing the surrounding air.
The ionized air causes the central collecting rod and exciter of the pre-placed lightning rod to discharge in a very short time. Due to its special structure, the presence of a large number of air ions in the pre-placed lightning rod creates a faster upward discharge channel than ordinary lightning rods, neutralizing the opposite charge of the lightning in advance and discharging it to the ground, thus better protecting the building.

Protection Range
According to the calculation method in the French NFC17-102 standard, the protection radius Rp is calculated using the following formula:
When h ≥ 5m, Rp = √h(2D - h) + △L(2D + △L)
Where △L = V * △T
Rp: The protection radius of the lightning rod on the protected plane at a height h from the tip
h: The vertical height from the tip to the protected plane, h must be ≥ 2m
D: Lightning strike distance (rolling sphere radius), depending on the lightning protection category of the protected building, the D value is 20m for Category I (30m in GB50057-2010), 45m for Category II, and 60m for Category III
△L: Upward leader preemption distance of GSY
V: Leader propagation velocity, V = 1.06 m/μs
△T: LSE preemptive time (early discharge time), measured by a high-voltage laboratory
When 2 m < h < 5 m, Rp is determined according to the curve graph in the NFC-17-102 standard.
